Haunting final minutes of BBC star’s family before crossbow murder – including victim’s tragic final phonecall

THE haunting final minutes before a crossbow killer murdered a BBC star's family have been revealed. Carol Hunt, 61, Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28, were found dead at the family home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, in July. Louise's ex Kyle Clifford was arrested following a manhunt but was unable to be interviewed while he was treated for an injury in hospital.
The 26-year-old appeared at Cambridge Crown Court today where he dramatically changed his plea on three counts of murder to guilty. He also admitted false imprisonment after tying Louise up and two counts of possession of offensive weapons. Clifford denied raping Louise on July 9 - the same day the family were killed - and will stand trial for that count on March 3.
The incident, on Ashlyn Close, is understood to have begun around 6.30pm. Brave Hannah managed to phone police to tell them her mum and sister had been shot and she feared "she was going to die". The phonecall then cut off before she managed to re-establish contact and an ambulance was called.
An inquest also heard how she text an unnamed person to reveal she had been "tied up". She then begged them to call the police as the suspect was still in the house. Armed officers arrived at the home around 7pm to find the front door open and Louise tied up with duct tape.
Tragic Hannah was lying in the main doorway and been shot with a crossbow but was still alive. Mum Carol had been stabbed in the knee, hands, back and torso with the ten-inch butcher's knife. It is understood the BBC racing commentator John Hunt was informed of the tragedy as he returned from work at Lingfield Park.
