Have-a-go hero stabbed ’20 times’ outside Asda tells how he fought off ‘Rambo knife attacker who went on rampage’

A HAVE-A-GO hero was stabbed while trying to tackle a knifeman during an attack at a warehouse near an Asda supermarket. A man was arrested today after the attack in Croydon, south London, at 10.21am, police said. Five people were rushed to hospital, including one who was taken to a major trauma unit.
Emergency responders were are the scene outside a Sainsbury's Argos distribution centre in the Beddington area. An air ambulance landed in Beddington Park. Joseph Denton told the Sun how he was stabbed in the finger trying to fight off the attacker with a fire extinguisher.
The 29-year-old, from Rayleigh, Essex, was the site for an audit, and described the suspect as being armed with a "Rambo knife". Speaking at the scene, he said: “He was trying to stab me like a serial killer. “I picked up a fire extinguisher and hit him with it. I picked up anything I could find.
“I was stabbed on my finger. He tried to stab me about 20 times but I was lucky to get away with just this. “He was stabbing people in the warehouse. We locked ourselves in the office. “It sounded like they were getting killed. We decided to open the door and try help them. At which point he started sprinting towards us.
“He got half way in the door before I could shut it and was trying to stab me. He had a Rambo knife.”. Police were called to Marlowe Way in Beddington on Thursday morning to reports of a stabbing at a warehouse. Five people were treated for injuries by the London Ambulance Service at the scene, the service said.
