Hollyoaks confirms the end of Abe as abuser is set to pay

The net closes in on Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti) in Hollyoaks next week as he’s hauled in by police for more questioning after another accusation is made. The villainous character, as viewers know, coercively controlled and abused Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) for months before taking her prisoner in his flat for over a year.

While holding Cleo captive, he started a relationship with Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), who he similarly gaslit and manipulated. Cleo, meanwhile, staged an escape but before she could inform her loved ones about the torment she suffered at Abe’s hands, she was knocked down by a car and put in a medically induced coma.

Abe covered his tracks and subsequently married Peri and, in upsetting scenes earlier this month, he raped her. Peri reported Abe to the police but he was released pending further investigation. Cleo, meanwhile, regained consciousness at the hospital and told everyone about the hell she suffered at Abe’s hands.

Abe twists the narrative, claiming that he’s a victim of Cleo, who made him protect her while she hid after the death of Suzanne Ashworth (Suzanne Hall). Donny later shows Cleo an intimate video that Abe turned over to the police. Peri, Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speeed) search online to see if Abe has posted the video of Cleo on any sites.To their horror, however, they discover not only that recording but one of Peri too.
