A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service added: "At just before 9.50pm on Sunday (December 29) two fire engines from Salford fire station plus the technical response unit from Leigh fire station were called to reports of a crash involving a car and a bus on Blackfriars Road, Salford.
Horror Salford double-decker bus crash leaves five in hospital as police issue major update A major update has been issued by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) after a double-decker bus crash left five people in hospital.
A GMP spokesman said: "At around 9.40pm last night (Sunday, December 29 2024), we were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a bus and a car on Blackfriars Road in Salford.
Five people were taken to hospital following the crash, including the bus driver.
Fire crews "extricated" the driver and three passengers from the bus before they were taken to hospital.
