TOMORROW DAY (6.45 Newcastle, nap). He has a fantastic record at Gosforth Park with four wins and a second from his sevens around there. Three of those victories came over this distance and he almost made it four last time when going down in a tight finish. Mark Usher’s four-year-old returns quickly with Paul Mulrennan taking over from an amateur rider. He’ll be up with the pace again and can get his head back in front.
BLUE LAKOTA (12.52 Southwell, nb). Has yet to run a bad race this winter and was really unlucky to finish only third at Newcastle last time. He was beaten just over a length and crossed the line full of running. He can make amends here. PALS BATTALION (5.45 Newcastle, treble).
