The 2024/25 NFL postseason continues this weekend with the Divisional Round playoffs. Eight teams remain in the competition, each fighting for their place in Super Bowl 59, which will take place on February 9 at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome. But to be in with a chance of lifting the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy, there are still two playoff rounds to get through. The postseason has already seen several teams from the AFC and NFC eliminated, with the Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers among the teams suffering a defeat across Wild Card Weekend.
Joining the action for the Divisional Round are the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions, who each earned a first-round bye, having secured the AFC and NFC number one seeds, respectively. The Chiefs – whose Christmas Day win against the Steelers saw them secure the number one seed – are on the brink of a three-peat and could become the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

Meanwhile, Detroit are one of 12 teams to never win a Super Bowl and one of four who has never made it to the season finale in its 58-year history. They are now two games away from the final game, with only the Divisional and Conference Championship rounds left to play.
