Police have launched a hunt for a man who assaulted a 19-year-old woman in an alleyway after following her off a bus. The victim got off the number 217 bus, at Waltham Cross bus station, at 7.45pm on December 30. She walked through the town centre before she was grabbed by a man in an alleyway who only stopped when another person noticed.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the man may have followed her because she was on the same bus. This bus had travelled from Turnpike Lane to Waltham Cross so the man may have links to Tottenham and Enfield. Detective Sergeant Paul Dicker said: ‘We have followed many lines of enquiry during this investigation, and we are now releasing these images, we believe the person pictured was in the area around the time and may have vital information for our investigation.
