Celtic face an anxious wait over the fitness of winger Nicolas Kuhn after a knee injury ruled the leading scorer out of the goalless draw with Dundee United at Tannadice. Already missing first-choice central defenders Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty through flu, right-back Alistair Johnston joined Kuhn on the sidelines as the champions dropped league points for only the second time this season.

Coming up against a resolute Dundee United defence, the Parkhead side failed to test keeper Jack Walton until the final stages. While a point maintains a nine-point lead over second-place Rangers in the Premiership, Brendan Rodgers faces an anxious wait to establish the full extent of 12-goal Kuhn’s unspecified knee problem.

Forced to ring the changes to his starting line-up, Rodgers said: ‘I don’t know how long Nicolas will be out for. Hopefully it’s not long term. ‘He felt a problem with his knee and then he felt a twinge on Saturday. We hope that it’s not too long but I will find out more on Monday about whether he will be back for Thursday.

‘He’d been running and moving okay but he felt a twinge when he passed the ball and we will need to see. ‘Cameron and Auston were ill. Ali should be back for Thursday and we just wanted to give him recovery time. He did really well to play in the final so we just wanted to rest him.
