Ruud van Nistelrooy is reportedly unhappy with the lack of transfer activity at Leicester. Seven weeks after being appointed to great excitement, the Dutchman finds himself in a difficult situation after failing to turn around the Foxes' form. With just one win in their last nine matches in all competitions - which came over Championship side QPR in the FA Cup - things are looking bleak.
Despite their struggles, Leicester have made just one signing in the January transfer window - in the form of right-back Woyo Coulibaly. Now, according to The Sun, Van Nistelrooy is growing frustrated with the lack of incomings at the club as they look to battle for Premier League survival.
When asked about Coulibaly's signing, Van Nistelrooy responded: 'It's a good start,' with the clear inference it shouldn't be the end of the spending. Ruud van Nistelrooy indicated that Leicester require further signings if they are to improve. Leicester have already signed Woyo Coulibaly from Parma but need more reinforcements.
Meanwhile, after their defeat to Fulham, he said: 'You could look at the squad and you know which players were involved in the relegation two years ago. 'It's not only in the back four. It's in the middle of the pitch, up front, and the goalies as well.
'There's a fair bit of players who lived that situation and who knows what it's about, and what the consequences are. Right-back Coulibaly signed from Parma and will make his debut at Tottenham next weekend. Three of the Foxes back-four were in their relegation team of two seasons ago and 38-year-old Jamie Vardy is still their best hope of goals with back-up Patson Daka having scored once in his last 22 games.
