A LUCKY homeowner was left stunned when she won the Postcode Lottery - but her neighbour got double the prize. Carol Lee, from St Andrews, Fife, was in disbelief when someone knocked on her door and handed her a cheque of £60,000 - while her pal got £30,000.

Carol and her old friend Frances Nicoll - who has been her neighbour for over 40 years - landed the amazing Postcode Lottery win. But Carol got double of Frances' winnings due to one trick. Every ticket was worth £30,000, but Carol doubled her winnings by playing with two - landing her an eye-watering £60,000.

When Carol was presented with her first cheque, she said: "I'm shaking! Oh man! Oh wow! That is amazing. That doesn't happen to me.". Then the Postcode Lottery ambassador got out a second check, to which Carol said: "Oh for goodness' sake. That is unbelievable. Who says January is a bad month? I'm absolutely delighted.".
Now Carol is pondering a sunshine break with retired MOD driver hubby Sandy. She also looks to treat her three kids and six grandchildren. Carol said: "We'll probably go on holiday. I have a son, two daughters and six grandchildren. We could have a brilliant holiday for the whole family.
"Maybe Disney in Florida would be an idea; I've never been there in my life. The family will think I'm kidding and that I've lost it.". Not only does Carol want to treat her family - but herself too. She added: "I like Chanel. I might treat myself to something like that.".
