Ian Wright admits Arsenal pair have "realised their roles" after exploits in Brentford win

Ian Wright hailed Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli for coming up trumps during Arsenal's win at Brentford. The Gunners came from behind to see off the Bees despite going down to an early goal, eventually heading back across London with all three points. Jesus has found form in recent weeks and was on hand to equalise from close range.
Throughout his career, the main criticism levelled at the ex-Manchester City man is his lack of goals, but he's been producing more recently. Martinelli then made the game safe with a smart finish as he hammered home Arsenal's third strike. Both men have seen their form go up and down with Mikel Arteta often changing the look of his forward line. Bukayo Saka, one of the few ever presents, is now sidelined with injury and Wright was thrilled to see the Brazilian duo step up when Arsenal needed them most.
He said: “I’m delighted to see those two players [Martinelli and Jesus] finding form at a time when Arsenal need it most. They are scoring goals, playing well and contributing. They’ve realised this season how important their contribution is going to be, you just hope it can continue for both of them.”.
Arsenal, whilst being Liverpool's closest challengers, still need the Reds to slip up several times before they can really put the pressure on. Their win in west London means they are six points off the leaders, but they have played a game more. Despite the attacking talent available to Arteta, several of his players have not hit top gear, which has caused problems in the final third. The Gunners' threat from open play has been criticised, unlike their set piece opportunities, which allowed Mikel Merino to score their second.
