Indie singer’s Perverts album leaves fans ‘feeling like they are in a horror movie’

Ethel Cain’s new album Perverts has left fans spooked as many insist they feel like they are in a ‘horror movie’ after listening. The 26-year-old singer also known as Hayden Anhedönia, best known for her hit songs Crush and American Teenager, has shocked and delighted fans with her new album Perverts.
The singer’s album was released on January 8, following the release of the lead single Punish on November 1, 2024. The album of nine songs is of the southern gothic genre and is an experimental ambient project that moves away from the sound of her previous folk, indie-rock style.
While many have praised the album, her fans have agreed that it is certainly a spooky offering from the singer as many insist that they are ‘petrified’ after listening to the album and unable to sleep. ‘This new Ethel Cain album kinda feels like listening to a horror movie I’m kinda scared (in the best way possible),’ said arianacovid on X.
