ITV Wheel of Fortune viewers were left raging at their screens over the new reboot series. The iconic gameshow made its return to screens on Saturday night (January 4) for its brand new series. The programme was re-launched in 2024 after a two-decade hiatus.

The original programme ran for a huge 14 series on ITV between 1988 and 2001. Fronted by Graham Norton, the reboot follows the same premise as before. Players have to spin a huge carnival-style wheel in a bid to bag some eye-watering amounts of cash. Up for grabs this year is the life-changing prize of £50,000. The pressure will be on for the plates though as they pick a letter to solve the puzzle.

However, fans watching the latest episode couldn’t help but slam the show - with some claiming “it’s not the same as the original”. Over on X, one person fumed: “The worst game show and host on TV.”. A second added: “I think graham Norton does a good job with this... not like the original but he does his best..” A third penned: “Wheel of Fortune is without a shadow of a doubt the sh*****t gameshow ever.”.

Another wrote: “Christ on a bike, why have they resurrected this garbage.” Someone else chimed in: “Not the same as the original.”. Graham Norton previously expressed his excitement about the return of the show, stating: "I'm thrilled we are coming back for a second series to challenge more contestants to solve more word puzzles and hopefully they come away with even more cash.
