Jack Grealish agrees with Pep Guardiola as sobering Man City confession speaks volumes

A dumbfounded Jack Grealish agreed with boss Pep Guardiola that Paris Saint-Germain were simply better than Manchester City following their Champions League collapse. City squandered a two-goal lead in the French capital on Wednesday, as the Premier League champions suffered a bruising 4-2 defeat which saw them drop down into the elimination zone with one game remaining. Guardiola's side will guarantee themselves a spot in the knockout play-offs if they beat Club Brugge at home next week, but they could've been clear with a victory in Paris.
Half-time substitute Grealish got City up and running with a goal with his first touch five minutes after the restart before Erling Haaland quickly doubled their lead. But PSG responded through Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola before strikes from Joao Neves and Goncalo Ramos completed the dramatic comeback.
City couldn't deal with the French giants' ferocity as the game wore on, subjecting Guardiola and Co. to their first loss of 2025. Post-match, Grealish confessed to TNT Sports: "Credit to Paris, they were so good, very energetic. A lot better than I thought - I don't mean that in a bad way but they were top tonight, a really good team. I think they deserved to win.".
That echoed Guardiola's comments, as the City boss said: "First half we have a moment, they have moments. They were better. At 0-2, fine. We scored goals in five minutes, they scored goals in 5 minutes. We couldn't control the first goal, it was a bit knockout. They lift in that moment. They were better, faster, win the duels. We couldn't cope with that.".
