Reality TV star Jake Quickenden has announced the birth of his second son with wife Sophie Church and revealed the special meaning behind his name. The 36-year-old actor and singer, who found fame on The X Factor, said his baby’s middle name was a tribute to his late father Paul, who died of bone cancer in 2008.
On his Instagram he posted a video of Church with the baby and said: “Welcome to world little one. Kit Quickenden 6lb 13oz. “Born 08/01/25 – As a dad I just want to say Sophie was incredible, thank you for delivering Kit and being so amazing.”. He also uploaded a photo of Kit next to his first child, Leo, and compared the two.
“Can you see the resemblance in Leo and Kit…. It’s actually crazy they look identical. Leo is on the left and Kit on the right,” he said. “We gave him (Kit) Paul for a middle name after my Dad,” he added. Leo’s middle name is Oliver, named after Quickenden’s brother who died from bone cancer at the age of 19 in 2012.
The reality star shared a selection of photos of him and Church with Kit and said: “Baby boy is home safe and comfortable. “We were home the same day like four hours after… Soph amazes me. “Sophie is doing well she won’t put Kit down but I think she’s enjoying her cuddles, I’m finding it a little different to first time around, as I don’t want Leo to think we are leaving him out and he’s a little overwhelmed so we are doing a lot doing together!!.
