Jamie Smith believes that England's bowlers hold the key to halving the deficit here in Rajkot on Tuesday and keeping the Twenty20 series against India alive. England head into the third match of five having spurned the chance to level things in Chennai on Saturday when they posted a par score of 165 for nine and defended it tigerishly before the Indians squeezed home with four balls unused.

Asked what gave him confidence that Jos Buttler's side could retain an interest in winning a maiden T20 campaign against India, Smith said: 'The way we bowled, we put them under a lot of pressure. 'Both sides are going about it in very different ways. They are bowling a lot of spin at us and we are combatting that with high pace. It's an interesting balance of what suits each team.'.

Smith, who has now been capped by England in all formats across the past 16 months, is also taking cues from the opposition on his first senior tour of the subcontinent. Jamie Smith believes that England's bowlers hold the key to halving the series deficit in Rajkot.
