Actress and singing star Jennifer Lopez has cancelled all her upcoming media appearances following the devastating fires in Los Angeles. Jennifer was due to promote her new movie, Unstoppable, which launches on Prime Video on Thursday 16 January, but has cancelled all her chat show and promotional appearances so she can focus on helping out the community in LA. The premiere of the movie, which was due to be held at Hollywood’s famous TCL Chinese Theatre on Tuesday, was also cancelled.
“It's important to her to focus on supporting the community of Los Angeles during this very difficult time,” a source told People. Jennifer had been due to appear on shows including the Today show, The View, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and morning show Live With Kelly and Mark to promote her new film, which was co-produced by her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.
Unstoppable is a drama that tells the true story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler who was born without a leg and silenced doubters by becoming wrestling champion. Anthony is played by Jharrel Jerome, while Jennifer plays Anthony’s single mother Judy. The movie also stars Boardwalk Empire’s Bobby Cannavale and Avengers star Don Cheadle.
Jennifer posted information earlier this week on Insta Stories for people impacted by the Los Angeles fires, sharing “resources to help those impacted”, including details of shelter locations and animal care. A source also told Page Six that the actress has been “in regular contact” with her former husband Ben, who has reportedly had to evacuate his Pacific Palisades home. Jennifer, 55, “has been checking in on Ben throughout this whole ordeal” and “let him know she’s there for him and the kids,” the source said, referring to Ben’s three children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
