Missing glasses from Jeremy Clarkson’s The Farmer’s Dog pub are being sold on eBay after he claimed they were ‘stolen’. The Clarkson’s Farm star, 64, revealed he was suffering a series of ‘total disasters’ behind the scenes of his Oxfordshire pub after a long list of issues costing him money.
He said he had to hire ‘a whole team of chemically trained hazmat engineers’ to deal with an accident in one of the outside toilets, only managed to sell five of the 40 Christmas turkeys they’d ordered, and that 104 glasses had been stolen. ‘The theft, for example, is extraordinary. People seem to have it in their heads that if they come in for a pint they are entitled to go home with the glass in which it was served. Last Sunday 104 went missing,’ he wrote in his column in The Times.
It has now been revealed that some of those glasses are being sold on eBay. One appears to have been sold just yesterday and was on sale for £19.99. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video.
Up Next. According to The Sun, one person listed the plastic glass as ‘new’ and started bidding at £20, while another listing advertised two half-pint glasses for £24.60. In his column, Clarkson fumed: ‘It’s galling to see how much effort is required to make so little money on the farm. It’s worse at the pub. The customers are coming. There’s no problem there. But turning their visits into a profit is nigh-on impossible.’.
