Jordan Henderson has reportedly agreed a deal to join leave Ajax to join a Champions League club. Henderson has made 31 appearances in all competitions for the Eredivisie side this season, after being named captain by club boss Francesco Farioli this summer.
After arriving in January 2024 with the club in the midst of one of the worst seasons in their history, Henderson has been a key component in Ajax's rebuilding under Farioli this season. However, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano, the England international's spell in the Netherlands could soon be coming to an end.
According to the report, a move that would see Henderson join Ligue 1 side Monaco on a permanent deal is close to being agreed between the two clubs. Henderson is said to be joining on a contract that will run until the end of next season. Jordan Henderson is reportedly on the verge of agreeing a deal to join Monaco from Ajax.
Henderson has made 31 appearances for the Dutch club this season, and was named captain by head coach Francesco Farioli ahead of the campaign. The 34-year-old has not appeared for England since a Euro 2024 qualifier against Malta in November 2023. However, a report from Dutch publication De Telegraaf claimed that Ajax have informed Monaco that a move will not go ahead this month with Henderson viewed as vital in the club's bid to secure Champions League football.
