Liverpool are set to agree a loan exit for youngster Jayden Danns on deadline day. Danns has impressed coming through the ranks at Anfield and became the youngest player in Liverpool's history to start a Champions League game when he lined up against PSV last Wednesday. The 19-year-old has made four senior appearances this season, scoring once in the FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley. With the forward ready for more game-time, Liverpool are ready to sanction a loan for the rest of the season.

A number of clubs have been interested in taking him on, with boss Arne Slot confirming last week that discussions were ongoing. And with just a few hours left of the window, Danns finally appears set to leave. According to The Athletic, Sunderland are leading the chase for the Reds youngster. A number of Championship sides are said to have been interested in bring in the 19-year-old on loan. But the Black Cats are now seen as the favourites to land Danns for the rest of the season. With Slot possessing an abundance of attacking options, it has been decided that a loan move away is the best option for Danns.

Sunderland have been enjoying a brilliant first season under Régis Le Bris. They currently sit fourth in the Championship table and are secure in a play-off spot, sitting 11 points ahead of seventh-place Middlesbrough. Wilson Isidor is currently Sunderland's first-choice striker, having scored nine goals so far this season. Danns will likely arrive at the Stadium of Light as competition for the Frenchman.

If Danns does more to the North East on deadline day, his first game could come against Watford on Saturday. Le Bris' side do travel to Middlesbrough on Monday night, but the 19-year-old will not be registered in time to play. Liverpool boss Slot confirmed last week that discussions around the futures of a number of youngsters were ongoing. But he was keeping an open mind about whether they could still play a role for Liverpool this season.

"These are also ongoing discussions we have. You know how it is in football. Yesterday can be different than today or tomorrow. I can give you a certain answer and, of course, we’re not hoping this is going to happen," Slot said. "But if I leave the training pitch and there are three injuries along the training session then it’s going to be a different answer. It’s a process we are discussing a lot about. These decisions will be made and will be pushed towards the end of the window, which is almost there.".
