Kate, Princess of Wales, 'delighted' as baby behaviour trial expanded across NHS The Princess of Wales is spearheading the expansion of the Alarm Distress Baby Scale (ADBB) trial to eight more NHS sites across the UK this year, it was announced on Friday.
In June 2021, The Princess of Wales launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, to drive awareness of and action on the extraordinary impact of the early years, in order to transform society for the future.
A spokesperson for Her Royal Highness added: “The work of the Centre for Early Childhood continues to shine a light on just how important the first five years of life are for any baby and the role we can all play.
Health visitors involved in the first phase reported that the tool facilitated more meaningful conversations with parents and carers about their baby’s emotional well-being, promoted parent-infant interactions, attachment, and bonding, and crucially identified those in greater need of support.
The pioneering initiative, funded by The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, follows a successful initial phase that reported overwhelmingly positive results.
