Katie Holmes was spotted cheerfully making her way to Broadway ahead of her production of Our Town's final string of shows in New York City. On Saturday, the 45-year-old actress kept a low-profile as she walked to the Barrymore Theatre. She bundled up in a dark winter coat and bright red slacks while covering her brunette locks with a woven cream beanie.
Holmes accessorized with maroon designer sunglasses and carried a black purse over her shoulder while flashing a smile to fans. She began previews for Our Town on September 17, with the production officially opening on October 10. The show originally ran on Broadway in 1938 and became an instant classic of the American stage, winning the Pulitzer Prize For Drama.
Katie Holmes was spotted cheerfully making her way to Broadway ahead of her production of Our Town's final string of shows in New York City. Narrated by a stage manager, the groundbreakingly meta play revolves around New Hampshire village life at the dawn of the 20th century.
Amid a Spartan stage set, characters break the fourth wall, travel backwards in time and even return from beyond the grave. And after weeks of stepping into the shoes of a Grover's Corners citizen, the production is gearing up for its final stint of shows.
The final show is scheduled for Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. The revival features more diverse casting and includes Jim Parsons, Zoey Deutch, Ephraim Sykes, Julie Halston, Richard Thomas and Michelle Wilson. Holmes stars as Mrs. Webb, mother to Deutsch's protagonist Emily.
