Killer who fled to Amsterdam after stabbing taxi passenger in east London convicted A killer who fled to Amsterdam after being part of a gang who fatally stabbed an east London taxi passenger with a sword has been convicted.
Also convicted were Ibrahim Naim, 18, of Clacton Road, East Ham and Zain Ali, 21, of Poulett Road, East Ham, who were both convicted of manslaughter.
Victim Anselam Senaj, 26, was knifed to death while sitting in the backseat of a taxi at the junction of Victoria Avenue and Grangewood Street in Upton Park shortly after 10pm on November 11, 2023.
Met Detective Sergeant Brett Hagen, who led the investigation, said: “The sequence of events that night resulted in the tragic death of Anselam Senaj.
“This gang of men utilised a stolen vehicle to stop the taxi he was travelling in the back of and attacked him – murdering him in cold-blood in a matter of seconds.
