Kylian Mbappe has been slammed by SM Caen fans following the controversial sacking of their manager Nicolas Seube. Interconnected Ventures, founded by the Real Madrid star, completed a deal to buy a majority stake in the French second division club through its investment arm, Coalition Capital, last summer.

Mbappe is reported to have invested €15million (£12.6m) of his own money into the deal. Caen have endured a difficult start to the season and currently sit third from bottom after 10 losses in 17 Ligue 2 games. And manager Seube paid the price last Sunday as he was sacked by Mbappe following the side's poor run of results.

Caen fans displayed their dissatisfaction with owner Mbappe through a number of banners during their match against against Clermont Foot on Friday. SM Caens fans slammed Kylian Mbappe through a number of banners on Friday night. Mbappe bought majority stake in the French second division club last summer.

Nicolas Seube was sacked on Friday following the club's poor first half of the season. As per Sportacaen, just before kick-off fans unveiled a banner which said: 'Here, only work and loyalty make legends.'. The next two banners read: 'Before wanting to shine internationally, respect local figures', and 'Mbappe, the SMC is not your toy'.

Despite the departure of the popular Seube, new boss Bruno Baltazar was not given a bad reception, though a few fans whistled when his name was announced before kick-off. He told reporters afterwards: 'The fans are the heart of the club. Their reaction is normal. Of course, I would like to enter a project with a different context.
