Lewis Hamilton has taken to LinkedIn to share his first statement since he officially became a Ferrari employee. Having decided to quit Mercedes for rivals Ferrari almost a year ago, January 1 marked the first day of his new contract with the Scuderia. And he marked the occasion by posting a throwback photo from his karting days on social media.
But there were no words with it, only an emoji of a racing car. Hamilton has saved his first statement as a Ferrari Formula 1 driver for LinkedIn where he, as many do, spoke about starting a new job. Posting the same photo, he wrote: "I could not be more excited for the year ahead. Moving to Scuderia Ferrari, there's a lot to reflect on. To anyone considering their next move in 2025: embrace the change.
"Whether you're switching industries, learning a new skill, or even just taking on new challenges, remember that reinvention is powerful. Your next opportunity is always within reach. Here's to 2025 - a year of embracing new opportunities, staying hungry, and driving forward with purpose. Let's make it one to remember. Andiamo.".
Hamilton is listed as a "top voice" on the business-focused social media platform, where he has more than 230,000 followers who are interested in his views as an owner and investor in multiple businesses on top of his racing career. On top of his post, the 39-year-old has also updated his profile to reflect his new role. It now reads: "I've spent most of my life on track, having raced for over 30 years. Today I race for Scuderia Ferrari having formerly raced for Mercedes and McLaren.
