LIAM Payne's has bizarrely pledged to give all the cash from a $10million defamation lawsuit against the star's dad to the singer's son Bear. Rogelio "Roger" Nores, who was charged with manslaughter, has filed a lawsuit against Geoff Payne claiming he has been scapegoated over the 1D star's death.
The Argentinian businessman has vowed to donate all "net financial proceeds" from the lawsuit to Liam's son, Bear. In the lawsuit, the multimillionaire claimed Liam's dad made "misleading false and defamatory" statements to Argentine authorities leading to his arrest.
He said these statements have caused "irreparable damage" to his reputation and his lawyers demanded Geoff retract and correct his declarations. According to Nores, Geoff allegedly told investigators that he and Liam's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, were acting as Liam's "nurses" and were responsible for his care.
The baffling lawsuit also states that Nores was a close friend of Liam's but never acted as the singer's caretaker. The shock lawsuit comes despite police believing Nores has involvement in the tragic circumstances leading up to Liam’s death. And Liam’s dad Geoff has not made any public statements criticising Nores - who was among the final people to see Liam alive.
Nores saw Liam before the star fell to his death from a third-floor balcony at Buenos Aires' Casa Sur Palermo hotel. He was charged with negligent homicide, the Spanish equivalent to manslaughter, in December, over Liam's tragic death. Judge Laura Bruniard accused Nores of "abandoning him [Liam] to his luck knowing that he was incapable of fending for himself and knowing that he [Liam] suffered from multiple addictions".
