With just days until Christmas, for many of us fridges and cupboards are already filled with lots of the essentials and treats due to get us through the festive season. With food prices creeping up noticeably over the last few months, like many families I’ve been adding a few items to my shop each week to try and ease the cost.
I was feeling pretty happy that, barring one last Tesco delivery, we’d got all the extra bits and bobs we need for a couple of weeks of full-on hosting. Except this weekend my freezer died and suddenly I found myself looking panicked at pastries, party food and joints of meat defrosting fast.
Luckily, an improvised solution saved the day and my sanity and my pre-Christmas payday bank balance along the way. It has also made Ninja’s high-tech cooler my most-valued kitchen gadget of the year, as well as the perfect way of dealing with a lack of festive freezer space.
I got a Ninja FrostVault a few months ago, just as the summer was coming to an end. Dubbed ‘the King of Coolers’ by happy customers, one of dozens of new products launched by Ninja in the UK this year. Not only does it keep ice solid for up to five days but has a host of other smart features including a draining plug, integrated bottle opener, lockable lid and a clever ‘Dry Zone’ drawer that means food can be kept separate from drinks and away from the ice so it doesn’t go soggy.
