LIV Golf in talks with Fox over landmark TV broadcast deal which could change merger picture LIV Golf has entered into talks with Fox Sports about securing a new broadcasting deal for the breakaway league's events in 2025 and beyond, in a move that could significantly boost the appeal of the league amid the merger with the PGA Tour.
Viewing figures on The CW did not reach the levels LIV bosses would have hoped for after signing the deal for 2023, with this more evident than ever following the final regular season event of the year in September.
The league's agreement with CW saw the network broadcast the second and third rounds of tournaments on TV, with the first round only available via The CW App.
An average of just 89,000 golf fans watched Jon Rahm become the league's 2024 individual champion in Chicago on The CW in the final round, a number that had dropped from 134,000 in the second round, reports the Mirror US.
Previously, LIV had their tournaments broadcast on The CW Network in 2023 and 2024, after failing to secure a TV deal during their inaugural season in 2022.
