Arne Slot is relieved Manchester City are not breathing down Liverpool’s necks in the title race like they were last season. A year ago, Liverpool beat Chelsea to maintain their five-point over City, although Pep Guardiola’s side had a game in hand. City dropped just six points in their next 17 games to finish nine points clear of Liverpool and win their record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title.
