Liverpool's true feelings on Trent Alexander-Arnold future after Real Madrid's £20m move

Liverpool are still holding out for Trent Alexander-Arnold to sign a new deal before the summer. The Reds' right-back has entered the final six months of his deal and will be free to leave once the season ends. Already he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign team as Real Madrid continue to circle.
Los Blancos have lodged a bid in an effort to tempt Liverpool, who could lose the player for nothing in a matter of months. Their £20million offer has been quickly rejected. The feeling being Alexander-Arnold is worth more to them in the business end of the season.
Arne Slot's side are sitting pretty on top of the Premier League and remain in contention for every other competition. Alexander-Arnold has claimed every honour possible at Anfield and some believe he now wants a fresh challenge, but his hometown club haven't given up hope of striking an agreement.
It is understood that the player himself has given Liverpool chiefs no indication he wants to join Real, the current Champions League holders, despite a bid from the Spanish giants. The Reds have allowed Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to enter the final months of their deals.
It remains the subject of huge speculation but the academy graduate maintained that any talks would be conducted in private. He said: “I have been at the club 20 years now and I have signed four or five contract extensions… and none of those have been played out in public. This one won’t be either.”.
