Love Island fans outraged as Grace Jackson brands public 'stupid' after shock vote

There were tears upon tears in the Love Island villa as two All Stars couples were torn apart by a shock public vote. Fans watched on Wednesday as former contestants Chuggs Wallis and Samie Elishi returned to the show as bombshells - prompting cheers of joy from their fellow stars. But what the group of contestants didn't realise was that the public were voting to match Chuggs and Grace with other stars in the house - and one strong couple was ruined in the process.

During Wednesday night's highlights, fans saw flirtation between Samie and fishmonger Luca Bish - who had been coupled with Grace Jackson. He opted to kiss Samie in a game of spin the bottle - leaving Grace shaken and threatened as she feared he was harbouring an attraction to the recent arrival, even though he denied this was the case. On Thursday night, fans watched as the Islanders learned the public had been voting to decide who the two latest entrants should be paired with. It was soon revealed that Chuggs had been partnered with Danielle Sellers - who had been left on the shelf after Essex boy Ron Hall quit the show earlier in the week.

But emotions spilled over when Samie learned the public had voted for her to match with Luca - tearing him away from Grace. While Luca and Grace emotionally kissed in the garden as they realised their romance had been sabotaged, Samie burst into tears on the terrace as she felt guilty about the turn of events, even though her co-stars tried to assure her she had done nothing wrong. Grace's sadness quickly turned to anger, however, and she started bitterly complaining about the outcome of the public vote - raging that viewers must have clearly seen how in love she and Luca were, and blasted them for voting for him to be taken away from her. Those watching from home were far from pleased by Grace's reaction, however, and delighted in the fact that she had been left miserable after she had appeared to question the intelligence of the great British public.

She raged: "I just don't understand why the public would put Luca with her? With Samie? Are they not seeing how close we are? Are they not seeing how well we're getting on? Not seeing how perfect it's been since I walked into the villa?". Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "Not Grace calling the public stupid #LoveIsland" alongside a gif of Ricky Gervais laughing hysterically. Another wrote: "Y’all were trying to be messy and now you’re being told you’ve seen something in Sammy and Luca.".

Others questioned why Luca and Grace didn't walk away from the show after their apparently blissful romance had been ruined. One asked on X: "Luca and Grace should’ve gone home then ! The point of the show is to find love and they have right ??? #Loveisland.". Many others sided with Grace, however - and more lamented that her romance with Luca was shot down in flames. One commented: "Was Grace meant to stand there like bread and take the disrespect? #loveisland #LoveIslandAllStars." While another remarked: "Ekin Su and most Islanders don't want Grace and Luca cause they know they will win.".
