Love Island's Omar leaves fans branding him 'insane' after wild decision

A Love Island star was criticised by fans after revealing the 'insane' reason behind kissing a girl outside his couple for the second time. In today’s game of Snog, Marry, Pie, Omar Nyame caused some tension by snogging Tina Stinnes, whom he had previously kissed in another game. He then married Catherine Agbaje, but Catherine was furious about the kiss with Tina, feeling hurt about his choice. Omar tried to explain that the kiss meant nothing and he only did it because he had kissed Tina before in a game, insisting it was all in good fun and didn’t hold any real significance.
Fans were left divided as they took to X, formerly Twitter, to chime in. One user wrote: "Omar’s explanation is silly…." Whilst another added: "Omar, you could’ve kissed Tina on the cheek if that was your mindset….." A third penned: "Omar literally is saying nonsense like his logic makes no sense." And a fourth added: "Omar, you could have given her a peck on the cheek. He got away with this too easily." A fifth wrote: "i hate omar rn but my god is his gaslighting insane wtf FEAR MEN.".
Some viewers defended Omar with one user writing : "Omar’s apology was very genuine. Love that he saw Cath’s POV and man enough to say sorry." And another added: "I actually kinda understand Omar’s reason now that he explained it." A third penned: "Omar handled that so well that Catherine began to blush.". Omar arrived at the villa a week ago, having previously appeared on the eleventh season of Love Island alongside Grace Jackson, Ronnie Vint, and Harriett Blackmore. Before entering the villa, he promised his arrival would be eventful. “It’s round two so I’m ready to go! I’m ready to play the field as well. I want to be a bit mysterious. The other person will know how I’m feeling, I’m not going to tell them at first but they’ll definitely feel my aura and my vibe,” he said.
He added: "I think I'll be a bit more daring this time. I think all the girls are top tier, but for me it's Catherine, Grace, Elma and Tina. I’ll see who I have a connection with in there and go from there.". When he arrived, he immediately stirred things up by going on a date with Grace, followed by one with Catherine, who admitted her first week at the Love Island villa had been “emotional.” Omar told her: "You need somebody that's got that fire," to which she responded: "I've been patiently waiting." Catherine and Omar later coupled up with each other and have been in a couple since.
