LUCY Letby's lawyers are set to reveal new evidence which "significantly undermines" her conviction for murdering seven babies. Barrister Mark McDonald, representing the killer nurse, said he would be giving "fresh developments" in the case. He is due to make an announcement on Monday afternoon at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.
Letby, 34, is currently serving 15 whole life terms for murdering seven babies and attempting to kill six who were in her care at the Countess of Chester Hospital. During a retrial this summer, she was convicted of a seventh attempted murder. Her killing spree spanned from June 2015 to June 2016.
Mr McDonald said of the developments: "There will be a press conference by the legal defence team for Lucy Letby to announce fresh developments on the case. "At the conference we will also be announcing new evidence, which significantly undermines the convictions.".
