Luke Littler, 17, WINS opening World Darts Championship game as he survives scare against Ryan Meikle to progress LUKE LITTLER had to shake off some early ring rust on his way to beating Ryan Meikle.
Meikle held throw at his first two attempts but Littler stole in on his next go, hitting double top back to back to win the third leg and steal the first set.
But he failed to back that up as momentum swung back Littler's way - the Nuke managed two breaks of throw to seal the third set.
Littler, 17, did not get into his groove until the pressure was on in the fifth leg, when he found a treble with his first five darts.
But Littler was unable to continue that momentum, and lost his serve and the next leg to find himself 2-0 down in the second set.
