Luke Littler struggles to hide his feelings as he’s introduced as world champ for first time since Ally Pally heroics

LUKE LITTLER could not hide his smile during his new introduction at the Bahrain Darts Masters. The 17-year-old took to the oche for the first time since clinching World Championship glory, beating Lourence Ilagan 6-3 tonight. Darts announcer John McDonald has a new intro for Littler after his success at Alexandra Palace.

The Nuke tried to play it cool as he walked to the oche after being called the world champion. But he could not hide his emotions as he let out a smile before the song "Greenlight" blasted out the speakers. McDonald said in his new Littler introduction: "Ladies and gentlemen, from England, the winner of 11 PDC titles.

"He is the reigning and defending Bahrain Darts Master and the newly-crowned champion of the world. "It is Luke, The Nuke, Littler.". The teenage sensation stopped by his family and friends on his way to the stage for a quick hug from mum Lisa and a high-five from dad Anthony.

He was applauded by fans and appeared to make a joke to McDonald before his match started, with the host then leaving the stage giggling. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS. Littler was also applauded by Ilagan, who put up a strong fight but was eventually dispatched in routine fashion.

The Nuke averaged 94.36 in the clash and threw 140 or above an incredible 13 times to set up a meeting with Gerwyn Price next in Bahrain. Littler has been loving life in the build-up to the tournament and he is getting the VIP treatment in the Middle East.
