Macy Gray's dramatic moments as Masked Singer exit sparks shockwaves

Singer Macy Gray became the latest contestant to be seen voted off the Masked Singer just days ago and her exit has since attracted much attention. Toad in the Hole was unmasked as Macy, 57, on Saturday's episode of the ITV show, which returned for its sixth series earlier this month. She was voted out of the competition after having ended up in the sing-off against Bear.
After host Joel Dommett, 39, announced that Toad in the Hole, who had yet to be unmasked, would be leaving, the contestant walked off the stage. Joel teased: "Toad in the Hole has gone already!" He later added: "What is going on?". She later returned to the stage and took off her mask, but didn't appear impressed to be leaving the competition just three episodes into the new series. Macy went on to perform one last time for the audience though.
It isn't the first time that the Brit Award winner - best known for her acclaimed single I Try - has attracted attention over work in the showbiz industry. She's previously made headlines over other experiences in her career too and we've taken a look at a few instances.
It was reported prior to the episode airing that the contestant who had been voted out had "stunned" the audience by walking off stage ahead of the reveal. A source told the Sun that the celebrity had been "gutted" to leave the show. Following the episode's broadcast, it's been claimed that Grammy Award winner Macy had been "almost shellshocked". A source told the Sun that she was "totally blindsided" by the news of her departure after enjoying her time on the US version last year, where she reached the final.
