Macy Gray bombshell over behaviour on The Masked Singer - 'shows how unhappy she was'

The Masked Singer star Macy Gray shocked viewers when she refused to take off her Toad in the Hole mask over the weekend. Macy, 57, sent fans into a frenzy on Saturday night after she 'threw a strop' after being eliminated as Toad in the Hole, with producers reportedly spending nearly an hour convincing the singer to return for her unmasking and final performance. She was reportedly 'blindsided' by being voted out so early in the competition after reaching the final in the American version.
Not everything was shown to the audience at home as Macy took off from the stage and refused to return. While a shot of the panel's shocked faces was aired, the frantic backstage scramble was kept secret. Following the chaos, judge Jonathan Ross was even praised for taking control of the situation.
And now, it has been revealed that the chaos didn't just end with Macy looking unimpressed when she eventually returned to the stage. A TV insider has told The Mirror that the American singer refused to take part in the post-show interview, which celebrities have done over the years after leaving the show.
A TV source said: "It is normal for the celebs to answer some questions for a Q&A sent out by ITV but Macy didn't do it. This is only second time in history of the show this has happened so it shows how unhappy she was after the show." When host Joel Dommett announced that Toad in the Hole was going home, Macy didn't stay around for the customary reveal and instead walked off the stage.
However, it's not the first time Macy reacted in this manner on a TV competition. When she took part in the Australian version of the programme three years ago, Macy was unmasked as Atlantis but judge Dave 'Hughesy' Hughes said she 'refused to leave' despite being told it was time to take off her mask and say goodbye.
