Police had attended a home in Edensor Park about 1.30am on Tuesday after two men armed with guns were seen trying to break into a property, before leaving in a Hyundai sedan. The home is believed to be connected to organised crime groups, according to police deputy commissioner Peter Thurtell.

Police established a crime scene and began inquiries. They located a Hyundai, which sparked a pursuit along Cowpasture Road, Hinchinbrook.
During the pursuit, an occupant of the vehicle fired shots at a police vehicle. No police officers were injured. `. The pursuit was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns. However, officers used road spikes to stop the vehicle soon after. The driver of the vehicle – a 20-year-old man – was arrested. The male passenger fled on foot.
