Manchester City are back in Premier League action at home to Newcastle this weekend as they look to bounce back from defeat against Real Madrid in midweek.
That’s only the third home defeat Pep Guardiola’s have suffered across all competitions this season but they can’t afford another on Saturday especially against a direct rival for Champions League qualification.
City are slight favourites against a Newcastle side that will still be on a high after comfortably dispatching of Arsenal over two legs to set up a Carabao Cup final against Liverpool next month.
City’s hopes of regaining the Champions League took a blow on Tuesday night as they twice let a lead slip to fall to a 3-2 loss.
Another concern are injuries, Jack Grealish and Manuel Akanji both picked up knocks against Madrid and aren’t expected to feature at the Etihad Stadium.
