It takes roughly 15 hours to fly from the UK to Tokyo, 13 hours to Seoul and Hong Kong. And passengers spend most of that time sitting down. One intrepid traveller has documented everywhere they sat on a journey from Europe to East Asia, after gracing 13 different surfaces along the way: on trains, planes and toilet seats.

In a post captioned ‘Every seat I sat in on my journey from Europe to East Asia’, Reddit user Zestyclose-Split2275 said they began the trip on a bus, then sat on a train and later the metro before arriving at an airport in Denmark. Sipping a beer while they waited to board their flight, the Reddit user shared a photo of their seat with a view of planes taxiing next to a runway in the background.

Following another sit down in the airport and a photo of their plane seat, Zestyclose-Split2275 stopped for a second beer during what was presumably a layover before their next flight. After three more seats, including one on the second plane, all that beer clearly had an effect on the traveller, who shared a picture of the most dreaded part of air travel: a plane toilet.

The journey ended after a wait on a wall in arrivals, and a much comfier-looking sit down on a coach — 13 seats later. In the comments, Zestyclose-Split2275 revealed their route, which ended in Gongju-si, South Korea. The distance between Denmark and South Korea is more than 5,000 miles.
