Mancheser United left back Tyrell Malacia is in talks to join PSV Eindhoven on loan. The Holland international saw a move to Benfica fall through at the weekend after saying his goodbyes to teammates on Saturday along with Marcus Rashford. Malacia had been set to join the Portuguese club, but Benfica weren't able to agree to the loan fee and buy option terms that United had demanded. The 25-year-old has also had interest from Celtic and Real Betis.
Malacia has endured much misfortune with injury during his time at United and has made just 47 appearances for the club since joining in 2022. The full-back's contract at United runs until the summer of 2026 but he is likely to depart. Manchester United full-back Tyrell Malacia is in talks to join Dutch side PSV on loan. The defender has made 47 appearances for the Red Devils since signing in summer 2022.
Malacia has featured just three times for United in the Premier League this season. He started his career at Feyenoord and has nine caps for the Netherlands but hasn't featured for his country since 2023. Malacia is set to follow Marcus Rashford by leaving Old Trafford on a temporary basis. Rashford bid farewell to his United team-mates on Saturday before completing his loan move to Aston Villa on Sunday evening.
The deal will be an initial loan until the end of the season but it will also include an option for Villa to sign Rashford permanently for a pre-agreed fee, which is understood to be £40million. It is understood that Villa will cover 70 per cent of his wages, while the loan package will include bonuses for progressing in Europe and for qualifying for the Champions League again next season. Rashford has not played for United since mid-December when he fell out with head coach Ruben Amorim.
