Real Betis are closing in on an agreement with Manchester United over a subsidised loan for Antony, Mail Sport can reveal. The Brazilian has not started a league game for United this season but has found himself being used off the bench by Ruben Amorim.
There were progressive talks between United and Betis over the move on Saturday, surrounding its financial structure. The deal is expected to go through, as United are willing to cover part of Antony's hefty wages, coming in at a whopping £200,000 per week.
The loan will last until June 2025 without a buy option included. Earlier this month, Olympiacos expressed interest in a loan move for the beleaguered winger, but he did not want to play for the Greek side, Mail Sport understands. Real Betis are nearing a deal with Manchester United to sign £85million winger Antony on loan.
The Brazlian has not started under Ruben Amorim and has not scored in the league this season. He last played a full 90 minutes on September 17 during an EFL Cup clash with Barnsley. However, in December, Antony's agent Junior Pedroso told GiveMeSport that his client is indeed willing to go out on loan.
Many clubs have approached us for Antony’s move in January,' he said. 'These clubs wanted to understand the situation for Antony, so I can confirm that there’s concrete interest. 'I can say that Antony’s future is very much tied to Manchester United's interests. If the club thinks it would be a good idea to loan Antony out in January so he can get more minutes and regain his trust, we will work together on that option.
