'Fantastic four trailer looks so good I AM SO HYPED,' another wrote. 'Not bad for a first trailer I really hope this is good The Fantastic Four deserve it,'a third added. Marvel released three other live-action Fantastic Four films between 2005 and 2015. The 2005 film starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis as the four superheroes. All four actors reprised their roles in the 2007 sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, which did not see the same box office success as its predecessor.

Marvel fans took to social media to give their opinions on the latest entry into the superhero franchise. A new Fantastic Four movie was in development by 2009, with actors Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell cast as the leads in 2014. The film was heavily marketed before its eventual 2015 release, but despite the hype, it was a box-office bomb that earned about $168 million against a $120 million budget.

This led to the cancellation of future Fantastic Four films with the four actors, and it has since continued to be a talked-about box-office failure. 'I love Fantastic 4 (2005-07) and I'll love mcu F4. Yes you're allowed to like both,' a fan wrote on Tuesday. 'But the real enemy is Fantastic Four 2015.'. In First Steps, actors Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will portray Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing.

Director Matt Shakman explained what will make it different from the other Fantastic Four films. 'One of the ways we're making it our own thing is we're not telling the story of them going up and being changed, and starting our story [there],' Shakman told Entertainment Weekly in 2024. 'There's a lot of well-known narrative that leads into that moment, right? And then you're making up your new story starting basically at the end of the first act, and we thought, "Well, let's just start this thing off on a completely new foot."'.
