MCDONALD'S customers are buzzing after finding a new menu item is launching that's just like an old favourite. The fast food chain is shaking up its menu in the New Year with the arrival of four never-before-seen options. Maccie's clientele will be able to get their hands on a new BBQ ranch stack burger and Milkyway chocolate McFlurry from January 6.
But it's the two other new additions that have been catching shoppers' attentions - the Katsu crispy and Katsu grilled wrap. The wraps combine crispy or grilled chicken with Katsu sauce, alongside crispy onions, crunchy cucumber and fresh lettuce, all wrapped in a warm, toasted tortilla.
Shoppers can get the wraps for £3.49 as a single item or £5.29 as part of a meal, or £1.99 as a single item on Wednesdays. Posting on Facebook, fast food fans have left buzzing about the arrival of the Asian-themed wraps. One said: "Katsu curry wrap yes yes yes.".
Another posted: "Oh no! They got the Katsu wrap coming! There is no escape.". Meanwhile a third chimed in: "Oooo I do like Katsu curry.". It's not the first time McDonald's has launched a Katsu-themed menu item. The fast food behemoth brought limited edition Katsu curry chicken nuggets to menus in early 2021, but only for six weeks.
Fans were left gutted after the nuggets, made with crispy Katsu curry panko breadcrumbs, were ditched from menus. McDonald's regularly updates its menu, usually every six weeks. The new items and prices for the menu shake-up from January 6 are:. The calories for the items are yet to be revealed.
