It insures more than one in five Americans, or about 69 million people – nearly half of whom are children. “My staff has confirmed reports that Medicaid portals are down in all 50 states following last night’s federal funding freeze,” the US senator Ron Wyden said in a social media post on Tuesday.
“This is a blatant attempt to rip away healthcare from millions of Americans overnight and will get people killed.”. The administration exempted Medicare from its funding freeze, a federal health insurance program for seniors that covers 47 million seniors and disabled people.
