Show was due to be released this week. With Love, Meghan, the new Netflix series fronted by the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, has been delayed due to the ongoing wildfire crisis in California. The US state has been devastated by wildfires over the past week, described by California governor Gavin Newsom as the worst natural disaster in the country’s history “in terms of the scale and scope”.

More than 12,000 homes have been destroyed in the blazes, with more than 150,000 people evacuated from their residences and at least 16 people confirmed to have died. As a result of the fires, a number of cultural events set to take place in the area have been delayed, including the announcement of this year’s Oscar nominations.

Meghan’s Netflix series, a cookery show following the former Suits actor’s life in Montecito, California, was set to debut on the streaming service on 15 January. “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Meghan said in a statement. Last week, Meghan and Prince Harry were seen getting personally involved in volunteering efforts in the wake of the wildfires.
