Disney+ has delivered a new show to help get us through the cold (and often dull) winter nights – police drama High Potential. The series, written by The Good Place executive producer Drew Goddard, follows a single mother “whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective,” the streaming service has teased.
The drama is based on a popular French series, titled Haut Potentiel Intellectuel, and its cast includes stars you’ll recognise from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Scrubs and The Devil Wears Prada. Here’s a who’s who of the famous faces in the show – including where you’ve seen them before.
Kaitlin Olson stars as Morgan, a cleaner whose life takes an unexpected turn when she’s offered a position helping the LAPD solve crimes. Olson is best known for playing Deandra Reynolds in the long-running comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She also has a recurring role as DJ Vance in hit comedy Hacks – which has earned her two Emmy nominations.
The actress has also voiced numerous characters, popping up in Family Guy, Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory, and an episode of The Simpsons. Daniel Sunjata plays Karadec, a detective who puts his scepticism aside to team up with Morgan. Early in his career, he made a brief appearance in Sex and the City – playing a sailor who woos Carrie Bradshaw in Fleet Week – as well as Law & Order, Grey’s Anatomy, and 30 Rock.
