Two sisters missing in Aberdeen had previously visited a bridge where they were vanished, police have said. Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both 32, were last seen on Market Street at the Victoria Bridge over the River Dee at around 2.12am on January 7. They crossed the bridge and turned right onto a footpath next to the river heading towards Aberdeen Boat Club.

Police Scotland said investigations into their disappearance have now confirmed both women were seen at the same bridge at around 2.50pm on January 6. CCTV shows Eliza and Henrietta spent five minutes at the footpath and the Victoria Bridge but did not engage with anyone else.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the sisters at this earlier time. Police said that after visiting the bridge, the sisters were seen on CCTV heading towards the city centre, passing via the Union Square shopping centre, before heading back to their flat in the Charlotte Street area of Aberdeen.

Police Scotland said: "There is nothing to indicate that Eliza or Henrietta left their flat again until shortly before they were last seen at the River Dee in the early hours." Searches for the sisters are continuing since they vanished 10 days ago. A text message was sent from Henrietta's mobile phone to their landlady at 2.12am on January 7 from the Victoria Bridge area, indicating they would not be returning to the flat. After that, the phone was disconnected from the network and has not been active since.

The police said the following day, the sisters' personal belongings were found inside in the flat and the landlady reported her concerns to police. The force said Eliza and Henrietta are both described as white and of slim build with long, brown hair. They were both seen wearing rucksacks when they disappeared.
