Police say the stickers have caused damage to some of the graves when removed, including discolouration, so the culprits could be liable for property damage.
He added: ‘People who have witnessed anybody putting the stickers on the graves are asked to reach out to the respective cemetery’s administration.
The 5×3.5cm stickers were first spotted some days ago at three cemeteries in Munich, prompting a police investigation.
‘The stickers were put both on decades-old gravestones and very new graves that so far only have a wooden cross.
The stickers have been seen at Waldfriedhof, Sendlinger Friedhof and Friedhof Solln cemeteries.
