Netflix continues to highlight some of its biggest releases for 2025, including an adaptation that’s bound to capture the attention of its subscribers. The Leopard will be among the streamer’s major limited series coming out at the start of this year, based on the classic book of the same name, written by Italian author Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa.

Set in 19th Century Sicily, The Leopard delves into the story of an aristocratic family that gets caught up in the “changing sociopolitical times”. Prince Salina (played by Kim Rossi Stuart) comes to the realisation that his loved ones are in danger with the old aristocracy threatened and Italy moves towards unification.

There is still some time to wait before the show will be airing though with a release date for The Leopard set as Wednesday, March 5, on Netflix. As expected, the six-part drama is filled with recognisable Italian talent. Starring as Don Fabrizio Corbera, the Prince of Salina, is actor Kim Rossi Stuart who has worked on a plethora of Italian titles like Angel of Evil, Everybody Loves Diamonds and The Keys to the House.

He is joined by actress Bendedetta Porcaroli who starred as schoolgirl Chiara in the Netflix teen show Baby, followed by horror film Immaculate with Sydney Sweeney as well as the film Amanda. The cast also includes actress and model Deva Cassel, Disney’s Alex & Co star Saul Nanni, TV presenter Paolo Calabresi and ZeroZeroZero’s Francesco Colella.
